Byron C. Chou graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, where he was the recipient of the Sidney M. and Sylvia B. Feldman Memorial Scholarship. Thereafter, Mr. Chou received his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law where he was the recipient of the Kenneth Wang Memorial Scholarship and elected to serve on the Student Bar Association. 

Mr. Chou has a diversified background in matrimonial law, forensic accounting, finance, and business valuation. Prior to joining Gassman Baiamonte Gruner, he was a Senior Forensic Associate with KLG Business Valuators and Forensic Accountants. During his tenure with KLG, Mr. Chou assisted hundreds of clients, attorneys, and judges in contested and mediated divorce, personal injury, and estate matters by conducting forensic analyses, valuations of publicly and closely-held companies/entities/assets, financial modeling, deferred compensation valuations, and asset tracings. Since joining Gassman Baiamonte Gruner, Mr. Chou has devoted his practice exclusively to matrimonial and family law where he leverages his extensive forensic accounting expertise in litigating matrimonial cases involving complex equitable distribution and asset valuation, agreements (prenuptial, postnuptial, and separation), child custody, and support issues.

He is an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association (Chair of the New Lawyers Committee, Events Coordinator of the Asian American Attorney Section, and former Chair of the LGBTQ Committee) and Executive Board member of the Theodore Roosevelt American Inns of Court. Additionally, Mr. Chou serves on the Nassau County District Attorney Asian Leaders Advisory Council. He has also been invited by Nassau County Supreme Court Justices and various Bar groups to lecture on topics ranging from matrimonial law to artificial intelligence/ChatGPT. He is a past recipient of the Nassau County Comptroller’s Achievement Award.

After moving from Taiwan to the U.S. at the age of 5, Mr. Chou grew up in Syosset, NY. He currently resides in Huntington, NY where he enjoys playing pickleball and spending time with his dog, Mystique.
